LUPUS it's not Cancer, but it's just as bad.... LUPUS it's not AIDS/HIV, but it's just as bad. ... LUPUS it's not something you hear about often, but it's just as bad as those you hear about always. It's not fair that lupus survivors have to justify their fight for life through a life altering disease. It's ridiculous that when you tell someone you have lupus that they have the audacity to say, "At least it's not cancer. Wow is that AIDS? " As if lupus was a less traumatic and lesser of a disease. We know you mean well, but you must think and educate yourself before speaking. Lupus is a serious disease that can remove someone's loved one from life in an instance. Be aware of what you say to Lupus Warriors and don't demean or minimize a disease that is extremely difficult to deal with day to day.
What's terrible is that no it's not cancer but sometimes I wish it were?? Then you either get better (remission) or you don't. Instead of living every day waiting for the other shoe to drop while you lose more and more of your body to the disease.

ReplyDeleteJust always wish and wonder what be like to have a "normal" body again and people don't understand ....and oh yes waiting for the other shoe to drop ...scares me
